The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“<span class="news-text_medium">SIAC</span>”) has opened a representative office in Delhi, expanding its presence in India to three locations. The Delhi office joins SIAC’s existing Indian representative offices in Mumbai and Gujarat, established in 2013 and 2017 respectively.
The office was launched on 25 July 2026 during the SIAC Annual India Conference 2026 in Delhi. The launch ceremony was attended by a range of dignitaries and marked a further step in SIAC’s engagement with the Indian arbitration market.
Shwetha Bidhuri, SIAC Director and Head of South Asia, will lead the Delhi office. She will be supported by Devna Arora, SIAC’s Deputy Head of South Asia and Steffi Mary Punnose, SIAC’s Strategy and Development Manager for South Asia.
SIAC Chief Executive Officer Gloria Lim explained the decision responds to continued growth in India’s arbitration landscape. She identified Delhi’s significance as a centre for leading law firms, arbitration practitioners, corporate decision-makers, senior government institutions and the wider legal community. The representative office is intended to strengthen relationships with stakeholders across India and support dialogue, outreach, training and collaboration.
With the Delhi office opening, SIAC now has seven overseas representative offices: Mumbai, Gujarat, Seoul, New York, Shanghai, Beijing and Delhi. SIAC’s Beijing office, its second in China, opened on 25 May 2026.
The Delhi office is a further indication of SIAC’s commitment to supporting the development of international arbitration in India and facilitating engagement with the region’s legal and business communities.
