On 9 March 2026, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“<span class="news-text_medium">SIAC</span>”) published its <a href="https://siac.org.sg/compendium-of-siac-challenge-decisions" target="_blank" class="news-text_link">Compendium of SIAC Challenge Decisions<a href="https://siac.org.sg/compendium-of-siac-challenge-decisions" target="_blank" class="news-text_link"></a>, a curated collection of redacted decisions issued by the SIAC Court of Arbitration in respect of challenges to arbitrators. It is designed to improve transparency and accessibility whilst safeguarding the confidentiality of proceedings. The compendium currently catalogues 19 decisions spanning 2014 to 2023 and will be updated periodically.
The compendium was compiled with the aim of promoting greater transparency and accessibility for parties, counsel and arbitral tribunals seeking to understand how the SIAC Court approaches and determines challenges to arbitrators, whilst ensuring that the confidentiality of individual proceedings is preserved throughout.
For each decision included, the compendium sets out the year in which it was issued, the applicable rules, including the relevant version of either the SIAC Rules or the UNCITRAL Rules applied and the outcome of the challenge. Direct links to the PDF version of each redacted decision are also provided for ease of reference.
In its current form, the compendium lists 19 decisions in total, spanning the period from 2014 to 2023. Of these, 17 challenges were rejected and two were upheld. The compendium is intended as a living resource rather than an exhaustive record and SIAC has confirmed it will be updated on a periodic basis as further decisions are added.
