Belgravia Law is pleased to welcome You Xian Ng 伍优宪 (LL.M., ACIArb) to our team as a Foreign Qualified Lawyer. You Xian is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a qualified mediator accredited by the International Mediation Institute (IMI). He has also been called to the Bar of England and Wales to the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
His practice focuses on high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes, particularly in shipping and maritime, energy, oil & gas, international trade, sanctions-impacted transactions and asset-related disputes. He has experience in international commercial arbitration, cross-border litigation strategy, interim and injunctive relief, enforcement proceedings and complex evidentiary issues.
You Xian has acted in arbitrations under the LMAA, HKIAC, SIAC and AIAC Rules, including London-seated proceedings and matters involving the Civil Evidence Act 1995 and the IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence. His experience also includes sanctions-related disputes and advisory work, asset-freezing and worldwide Mareva relief, as well as maritime claims, including ship arrest proceedings. In addition, he has advised Chinese and international clients on the non-contentious aspects of shipping and ship finance transactions.
He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia and holds an LL.M. (Bar Vocational Studies) with Specialism in International Commercial Trade and International ADR from City, University of London. He was awarded the City Law School Prize for Outstanding LLM Clinical Work for achieving the highest mark in the Clinical Legal Education module under the Company Insolvency Pro Bono Scheme (COIN).
You Xian will support the firm’s international practice from Singapore and Malaysia, following the establishment of Belgravia Law’s Singapore office at the Marina Bay Financial Centre, which serves as our strategic regional hub for Asia-Pacific.
